2. Brief Description: Dickinson Area Catholic School is located on the corner of West B Street and Kimberly Avenue in Iron Mountain, Michigan. It serves students from Pre‑Kindergarten through eighth grade.
3. Enrollment: The school has an enrollment of 185 students who come from 110 families.

5. Participating/Subsidizing Parishes: Dickinson Area Catholic School serves American Martyrs Parish, Immaculate Conception Parish, St. Mary and St. Joseph Parish, and St. Mary Queen of Peace Parish.
6. Facilities: Dickinson Area Catholic has 10 classrooms and a computer lab. The Computer Lab has 24 computers. Each classroom has computers for student use. A daily hot lunch program is provided at Central Middle School, which is two blocks away. DICKINSON AREA CATHOLIC has access to the Iron Mountain Public School’s gymnasium.
7. Faculty/Staff: The Dickinson Area Catholic staff consists of nine full-time classroom teachers, one part-time teacher, ten Community Schools teachers, and six shared-time teachers. The office staff includes a full-time secretary and bookkeeper.
8. Accreditation Status: Dickinson Area Catholic is accredited through the Michigan Non-Public Schools Accrediting Association.
9. Curriculum: The curriculum at Dickinson Area Catholic is designed to be challenging and age appropriate. The basics and their importance are considered essential in preparing students for future higher-level learning. Special emphasis is placed on Catholic and Christian contributions in all subject areas.
10. Co-Curricular/Extra Curricular Activities Offered: High Quiz Team, Boys’/Girls’ Basketball and Cheerleading. There are also intramural activities and sports available through the Community Schools.
11. Religious Dimension of the School: As a school, we emphasize the four religious dimensions that include the Gospel Message, Christian Service, Liturgy and Prayer. Our students have daily instruction in the teachings of the Catholic Church in their regularly scheduled religion classes. Gospel values are integrated in all classes throughout the day. Students in Grades 1-8 attend Mass on Fridays and Holydays of Obligation and participate in religious seasonal activities such as Stations of the Cross and May Crowning. Our focus is to help mold students into examples of Christ.
12. Distinctive Qualities: Dickinson Area Catholic has an experienced and dedicated staff. In 1986, the school was chosen as one of 272 Exemplary Elementary Schools by the United States Department of Education for high standards in education.
13. Other Key Highlights: Dickinson Area Catholic works closely with the area public school districts. Community Schools teachers provide Gym, Music, Band, Art, Computers, Spanish, and Health. Public School Shared Time classes include Tech. Ed, Algebra I, Chorus and Title I Reading and Math.
14. Projections for the School: Dickinson Area Catholic has a Long Range Plan. Focus areas include: continuing to maintain/ensure a strong Catholic education and promoting its practice, assessing and updating curriculum, providing services to meet the individual needs of students, implementing an organized staff development program, implementing a technology plan and developing and maintaining a 5-year financial plan.

16. Tuition Assistance: Tuition assistance is available. No student who is a member of a participating parish will be denied an education at Dickinson Area Catholic School due to inability to pay.
